Meet the Team Brandon Pierce

Welcome to our “Meet the Team” blog post series! Each month, we’ll shine the spotlight on a different team member bringing you insider scoop on all things wine. From their personal favorites to unbeatable pairings and even tips on maximizing your wine experience, they’ve got you covered. Up next: our awesome tasting room associate, Brandon!

What made you want to work at a winery?

I have been an avid wine taster for years, have taken a lot of education about wine, and love how the science, community, and business of wine are so tightly entangled with one another.

What’s your favorite wine that we make and why?

I love a big, bold, and dry red, which brings me to the Biggies. It’s a medium-bodied zinfandel, but the heat from the bourbon barrels gives it such a unique profile. LOVE IT.

What do your days off look like?

Doing something outdoors, going RVing, or traveling afar with my wife and son (and maybe the pup).

What do you think sets CFV apart from other wineries in the area?

I don’t think any winery has built a community in the way that Campos has. I’ve never encountered a winery, let alone one in our area, that blends the spiritual and party-going natures so well. Our culture is unmatched.

What’s the most random fact about wine that you’ve learned since working here?

A bad wine will have a cork that smells like wet dog.

Which label design is your favorite?

Judah, because I’m a Leo.

If you could create your own Give-Back wine, which charity or organization would you donate to?

If I could create a Give-Back wine, I would donate proceeds to Monument Crisis Center because that was my first opportunity to work with kids and actually use my Spanish language skills in a meaningful way, which eventually made me become a Spanish language/bilingual education teacher.
