CFV Gigi's Blend

Raise a glass and join us in celebrating a major milestone at Campos Family Vineyards!

We’re thrilled to announce that not just one, but FIVE of our wines have been awarded medals at the highly acclaimed San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. This prestigious event is the largest of its kind in North America, featuring over 60 esteemed judges tasked with evaluating 5,500 wines from almost 1,000 wineries.

Being recognized at this level is a true honor and a testament to the passion and dedication that goes into each bottle of wine we produce. From the fruity notes of our rosé to the smooth finish of our reds, each bottle of Campos Family Vineyards wine is crafted with love and passion, using only the finest grapes from our beautiful vineyards. We couldn’t be more proud of our team and the hard work they put into each bottle.

So, whether you’re already a fan of our wines or you’re just looking for a reason to try something new, come pop a bottle and celebrate with us!

Our Winners

Sparkling Rosé – Silver

Our Sparking Rosé is Campos Family Vineyards’ best-selling wine, and at first sip, you’ll understand why. This versatile wine is floral and bright, with dominating flavors of strawberry and raspberry. Notes of kiwi and lime linger on the tangy finish.

Our sparkling rosé is made in the traditional methodé champenoise, a labor-intensive process that involves fermenting twice and giving the bottle a quarter-turn every six hours for a year. Our Sparkling Rosé beautifully showcases all five red grapes grown on the Campos Estate: petite sirah, zinfandel, mourvedre, barbera, and cabernet franc.

Our sparkling rosé is refreshing, bubbly, and perfect for a hot summer day or celebrating any occasion. Pair with Thai spring rolls, spicy grilled prawns, or (our favorite) a juicy burger and french fries.

Revival – Silver

What is Revival? It’s the restoring of life, an awakening, a renewal. Revival comes after times of stress, from the crushing and the pressing. The result is new wine – both in the natural and in the spiritual!

This beautiful, unfiltered Estate Cellar blend of mourvèdre and barbera boasts a berry-infused aroma with an earthy, straight-from-the-barrel finish. The savory flavors of mourvèdre beautifully complement the fruit-forward qualities of barbera. Revival is a deep, ruby red wine that’s elegant and full-bodied with well-balanced tannins.

This versatile red pairs well with meaty, garlic- and tomato-heavy dishes: think spaghetti and meatballs, Margherita pizza, or braised lamb shanks.

Gigis Blend – Bronze

Packaging – Silver

Gigi’s Blend is a Barbera-heavy, premium red wine. Notes of black cherry, vanilla, and oak are on the nose, combined with classic Barbera notes of allspice and cedar that culminate in a soft, sweet tannin finish. Full of texture and intensity, it’s no wonder this fruit-forward red is considered our flagship wine.

Although traditionally made in Italy, we found a way to bring the magic of Barbera to Contra Costa County with our most phenomenal vintage yet. Despite its bold, deep color, this is a juicy, easily-drinkable red that is meant to be shared.

The textured label on the bottle was created by Ric and Michelle Campos’ granddaughter, Gianna, who has Asperger’s. She named the design “Twisty” as a visual representation of how her brain works. “From the moment she was born, we knew she had a special purpose in life. Truly, she’s God’s gift,” says Ric and Michelle.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Gigi’s Blend is donated to The Temple Grandin & Eustacia Cutler Autism Fund.

Boujee – Bronze

Cheers to our Estate Cabernet Franc, an elegant wine carefully made in the semi-carbonic maceration method.

How did we do it? We started by placing whole clusters of grapes in a closed tank, leaving a bit of oxygen at the top. The oxygen helped yeast to form and ferment the released juices. The by-product of the fermentation was CO2, which forced the grapes that were still in-tact to begin to ferment inside of themselves. They eventually split open, where fermentation off-skin continued.

This method resulted in a beautiful, feminine, light-bodied wine low in acidity and tannins. It’s lively, refreshing, and fruit-forward without being overly tart. You’ll notice almost candy-like flavors of raspberry, strawberry, banana, and red Twizzlers with a soft finish.

Tease your palate with the zip and pop of this fun, flirty, Beaujolais-style wine that we affectionately call “Boujee.” Because the grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process is so meticulous, we make this wine in small production.

As the name implies, this wine is for those times when you’re feeling extra luxurious – whether that’s hanging out in a bathrobe and putting on a face mask, or hosting a holiday dinner party. You do you.

This refreshing, low-tannin wine pairs well with a wide variety of foods. Try roast chicken and herbs, stuffed peppers, or turkey with cranberry sauce.

Biggie’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel – Bronze

Get ready for a unique, rich, and deeply flavorful wine. Biggies Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel was aged in Bourbon barrels for several months before bottling. The classic dark fruit and spice notes of zinfandel are enhanced by subtle layers of toasted oak, rye spice, and vanilla. The finish is long and smooth with silky tannins and a chewy caramel finish. Biggies’ Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel is truly one-of-a-kind, and can be enjoyed with anything or nothing at all.

Biggie, the childhood nickname of Campos Family Vineyards owner Ric Campos, appropriately describes this bold zinfandel. Ric and his winemaker, Gerardo, wanted to do something bold and innovative with their estate zinfandel. They sourced used Bourbon barrels from George Dickel Distillery in Tennessee, and finished this zinfandel in those barrels for 10 weeks before bottling. Keep an eye out for the next bottling of Biggie’s, which will boast having used local Bourbon and whiskey barrels from Sabbatical Distillery on Victoria Island!
